A Tribute to Our Father

Meierz.org is a collection of architectural and landscape sketches from our father’s travels over the years. His work captured the world as he saw it—lines and light, spaces and silence—preserving fleeting moments in ink and paper.

Recently, we recovered some of his drawings from our childhood home in Pacific Palisades. The house, the neighborhood—practically the entire town—is now gone. But through his art, a piece of it endures.

This website is dedicated to our dad, a man who saw beauty in the details, and to the places that shaped us.

About Heinz Meierz

Born and raised in Switzerland, Heinz Meierz was an architect with an eye for both grand structures and quiet, intimate spaces. His sketches capture the essence of places—both their form and their feeling. Over decades of travel, Heinz chronicled cities, landscapes, and everyday life through his detailed line work, preserving moments in ink before they faded into memory.

This site is dedicated to him, from his sons, Thomas and Philip.

A Family’s Tribute

Heinz’s sketches are more than drawings; they are memories. Recently, his sons, Thomas—a Buddhist monk—and Philip—a father and tech entrepreneur—recovered a collection of his work from their childhood home in Pacific Palisades. The home, the neighborhood, and much of the town are now gone, but through these sketches, fragments remain.
